Singapore and the Merlions Magical Cocktail Trail – Day One

Before I get to Japan though, I do have a couple of other ‘non-solo’ trips lined up and today I’m in …..
Day One
The flight was really long, probably because in front of me was a guy who farted the whole way  (I was nearly at the point of trying to find the planes oxygenn mast just for some relief), and behind me was a little girl, who although fairly well behaved, insisted on kicking the back of my chair and singing to herself in a pitch that could only have had all the dogs on the land below come running.
But nevertheless we made it, and Singapore is still the same as ever, but not.
I note with excitement that the new Brunetti restaurant has opened at Tanglin Mall, right outside our hotel – I can’t wait to try that, especially the All You Can Drink for SGD$39 deal!  But Brunetti will have to wait til tomorrow.
After a brief look around Tanglin, we caught a cab one of my favourite cocktail spots in Singapore to kick off the evening, Orgo.  Perched on the top of the Esplanade, it offers pretty good views of the Singapore CBD, great tapas and awesome cocktails.  Tonights little beauties were a Passionfruit & Coffee Salt Marguerita and a Watermelon Daiquiri and they were awesome.  They were accompanied by a plate of Tortilla squares, the most gorgeous bread with chorizo and dips and a nice Singapore breeze.
Then we headed down to the waterfront and watched the light show at Marina Bay, which was nice, but doesn’t really compare in anyway to the nightly light show in Hong Kong.
Dinner was a quick stop at TCC, before heading back to the hotel for sleep ahead of our first full day in Singapore tomorrow.
